● Sarkaria congratulates PDA for installing Solar Plant on Office Building
Chandigarh/Patiala, August 10
With an aim at energy saving, Patiala Development Authority (PDA) has got installed an On-Grid Solar Power Plant System on the roof top of the Authority’s building at Urban Estate, Phase-2, Patiala.
Chief Administrator Patiala Development Authority Ms. Surabhi Malik said that the Grid Power Plant having capacity of 90 KW is expected to generate approximately 1, 30,000 electricity units on yearly basis with the help of 244 Mono Crystaline P.V.Solar Panels.
Appreciating the efforts of the officials of Patiala Development Authority on successfully commissioning of the green project, Housing & Urban Development Minister-cum-Co Chairman, Patiala Development Authority Mr. Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria said that earlier also, the H&UD department has made efforts in the direction of energy saving by getting installed LED lights in the buildings of various Special Development Authorities. The department would keep on exploring possibilities in future to save the natural resources, the minister said.
With generation of electricity units from this Solar Power Plant, the Chief Administrator revealed, the Authority would save on electricity bills amounting approximately Rs. 10.40 lac per annum. PDA has incurred expenditure to the tune of Rs. 32 lac to get the job accomplished of designing, supply, installation and commissioning of this Grid Power Plant. In the longer run, the project would be a profitable venture for the Authority as installation of this Power Plant will save the amount being paid in the shape of electricity charges, said Ms Malik.
